Here at 763 Collectibles we want to not only be your go-to source for purchasing your collectible cards, but also a resource you can use to get more information on this hobby that we all love! Many people who are just getting started collecting have the same questions so let's take a deep dive and answer those FAQ's for you!
How do I get started?
A common misconception with collectors is that if you haven't been collecting since the start it's now too late to get into the hobby. NOT TRUE!! If you're new and wanting to get started, the best thing you can do is begin researching the most recent sets and see what peaks your interest. If you have a favorite Pokémon then look into what sets they are part of and start with whichever set is in your price range!
What set should I start with?
The sets I would recommend looking into starting with are: Vivid Voltage, Champion's Path, Darkness Ablaze, and Hidden Fates.
Vivid Voltage: The most recent set and one filled with a ton of fun cards! Holographics, reverse holographics, and amazing rares all make this set a blast to open and collect!
Champion's Path: A fun set to open that includes two extremely rare CHARIZARDS!!
Darkness Ablaze: A set which also includes a popular Charizard card and will be a bit more obtainable for the average collector.
Hidden Fates: In my personal opinion this is the most fun set to open but it also commands a higher price tag than the others mentioned here. Shiny baby Pokémon, Charizard, legendary birds, and countless other cards make this set an AMAZINGLY fun experience to open.
How do I know what's real and what's fake?
Often times it can be difficult to tell the difference but the one golden piece of advice I can offer you is this; If the deal seems too good to be true, then it most likely is. One key piece of information you can use to tell if something is real or fake is to look very closely at the card or pack and see if something seems off. Does it look re-sealed? Does the card have a weird shine to it? If you ever have any questions on if something is real or fake please feel free to shoot us an email or DM and we would be glad to help you take a look and give our advice!
I hope this post is helpful for those of you that are new to collecting. Please don't ever hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions!
